Folding Hill Pinot Noir

£30.50
Red, Smooth, Medium Bodied, Lightly Oaked
Folding Hill is a small parcel, premium quality wine that we have imported directly from New Zealand alongside a handful of other quality independents. The production is tiny with the vineyard being only 10 acres so this is a wine you will rarely see. However, it is a rare treat.
It's typically powerful Central Otago Pinot Noir with lots of plum, morello cherry and blackberry, but there's much more than that. Have a sniff and you get palma violets and toasty oak. Sip the wine and it reveals rosemary and bay leaf character. Taste it again and there's a subtle meaty note alongside the fresh fruit. Then a touch of soft spice. It's Pinot Noir at its best - textural, seductive, complex and delicious. There's a little bit of grip from the tannins suggesting this will age well for 5-7 years and the acidity is fresh and balanced.
Tremendously enjoyable.
